Bega couple wins $1.3million Keno jackpot
The freight transport company owners, who wish to remain anonymous, were at the club for their regular Sunday night raffle draw when all 10 numbers on their Keno ticket came up.
However, yesterday it was back to work for Bega’s newest millionaires.
The man said he couldn’t let his employees or customers down and wasn’t planning on retiring any time soon, although his wife may have had yesterday off after “not sleeping a wink” on Sunday night.
“We were a little a bit numb, I suppose, I can’t explain it,” she said. “But we like our work, especially being our own business, so we’re not planning on giving that away.”
She said they would be back at the club this weekend for another game of Keno.
“We just love playing Keno - we’ve been playing for years. We’ll always play.”
She said they always thought “it won’t happen to us, but it did”.
“We were sitting side by side and he was very quiet, and he kept saying only one more to go,” she said.
